Abstract

This DVD brings together experts from across Canada to provide basic information about influenza and to discuss the threat of a pandemic and how we can all work together to prepare. Using 3D animation and news coverage of a simulated pandemic the video paints a realistic portrayal of what to expect and is based on the six essential elements of pandemic preparedness planning including: surveillance and monitoring, antivirals, communications, emergency management and coordination, clinical health services and vaccines.
