Abstract
In pediatric nursing, the ability to apply previously learned concepts to new situations is critical. In today's educational climate, with reduced class time being devoted to specialty areas, it is particularly important for nursing educators to focus on key concepts, rather than attempting to cover everything within a specific topic.
The intent ofCanadianEssentials of Pediatric Nursingis to provide the nurse with the basis needed for sound nursing care of children. The main objective is to aid the students in building a strong knowledge base that reflects the Canadian context as well as to assist with the development of critical thinking skills. The book covers a broad scope of topics, placing emphasis on common issues and pediatric-specific content. The text presents the important differences when caring for children as compared to caring for adults. Rather than repeating medical-surgical content, the text builds upon that knowledge base. A nursing process approach provides relevant information in a concise and non-redundant manner. In Unit IV, specific nursing process content is discussed as appropriate for given disorders.
Each chapter ofCanadianEssentials of Pediatric Nursingfocuses on a different aspect of pediatric nursing care. The book is divided into four units, beginning with general concepts related to pediatric nursing and followed by normal growth and development and specifics related to caring for children. The fourth unit focuses on nursing management of alterations in children's health. The content of this text reflects Canadian trends and statistics (when available).

Advanced Practice Nursing
Abstract
This expanded second edition of Canadian Perspectives on Advanced Practice Nursing uses a case-study approach to understanding advanced practice nursing roles and competencies and their impact across all levels of the health care system. Focusing on the roles of clinical nurse specialists and nurse practitioners, this volume explores the continued integration of advanced practice nursing in relation to social, political, educational, regulatory, legislative, and economic environments that have shaped them. The contributors articulate the historical development and evolution of advanced practice nursing in Canada, from rural and remote outpost beginnings to the present, and propose a vision for the future within the Canadian health care system.
Highly accessible, comprehensive, and rich in pedagogy, this well-updated new edition is an indispensable resource for students in advanced practice nursing programs across Canada, as well as practicing clinical nurse specialists, nurse practitioners, policy- and decisionmakers, professional nursing organizations, and leaders in health care.

Abstract
Widely understood to be the best tool of social change, education offers a space to interrogate persistent and damaging oppressions, calling into question the cultural and political antecedents, as well as the current politics and practices, that have facilitated inequity. Educational leaders themselves, however, have much to learn about dismantling systems that maintain these barriers.
Diversity Leadership in Education offers a deep look into the complexities and opportunities afforded by new models of diversity leadership. Authors from across North America explore how diverse leaders are key to improving the school experience for marginalized students. Indigenous, Black, racialized, and collaborative forms of leadership contribute to decolonizing educational settings by unsettling hegemonic ideas; these include the dominance of equity myths in educational administration and pedagogical whitewashing around issues germane to social justice.
Unpacking privilege in education systems, the volume speaks to incorporating social justice in everyday leadership practices through advocacy, solidarity, spirituality, relationality, and reconciliation. It profiles diversity leadership as a rudder, steering a more inclusive and equitable society.

Abstract
Practical tips, tools, and insight on successful team and group coaching engagements
As professional development budgets at many organizations remain flat or even shrink due to financial pressures, coaches and human resources leaders are looking for new ways to do more with less funding. Team coaching―which may span intact teams, project teams and virtual teams―and group coaching―spanning both organizational and public contexts―offer a solution to this developmental puzzle. Unfortunately, there are few practical resources available that address the best practices for team and group coaching. From One to Many fills that gap for coaches, leaders, and human resources professionals. The book explains how to integrate the practice into an organization and how to maximize it to full effect.
One of the only books on the market that explores in-depth the related topics of team and group coaching
Written by the founder of a performance improvement consultancy who is also a popular speaker on the subject
Features new content specifically for practitioners in coaching, human resources, performance improvement and related fields

Abstract
Happiness is not the belief that we don?t need to change; it is the realization that we can.
Our most commonly held formula for success is broken. Conventional wisdom holds that once we succeed, we?ll be happy; that once we get that great job, win that next promotion, lose those five pounds, happiness will follow. But the science reveals this formula to be backward: Happiness fuels success, not the other way around.
Research shows that happy employees are more productive, more creative, and better problem solvers than their unhappy peers. And positive people are significantly healthier and less stressed and enjoy deeper social interaction than the less positive people around them.
Drawing on original research?including one of the largest studies of happiness ever conducted?and work in boardrooms and classrooms across forty-two countries, Shawn Achor shows us how to rewire our brains for positivity and optimism to reap the happiness advantage in our lives, our careers, and even our health.

Abstract
he need for inclusive leadership has never been more urgent. In the United States, the wealth gap is the greatest it has ever been, with women, people of color, and other marginalized communities being the most impacted by economic and societal inequities. In the workplace, representation is still sorely lacking across every industry. Pay disparities, low wages, and lack of benefits continue to characterize many jobs in the nation?s labor force. These realities have an impact on generations, communities, and our society overall. To build a more equitable future, leaders must grasp the urgency of their role and responsibility in the change effort.
In this updated and greatly expanded second edition of her bestselling book, Jennifer Brown takes a deeper dive into what it takes to be an inclusive leader and examines the challenges and mindsets that continue to hold many leaders back. Combining nearly two decades of professional DEI expertise with personal experience and reflection, she tackles complex topics such as identity, privilege, and systemic inequities. Abstract
This worldwide bestseller offers simple guidance for building the kind of open and trusting relationships vital for tackling global systemic challenges and developing adaptive, innovative organizations?over 200,000 copies sold and translated into seventeen languages!
We live, say Edgar and Peter Schein, in a culture of ?tell.? All too often we tell others what we think they need to know or should do. But whether we are leading or following, what matters most is we get to the truth. We have to develop a commitment to sharing vital facts and identifying faulty assumptions?it can mean the difference between success and failure. This is why we need Humble Inquiry more than ever.
The Scheins define Humble Inquiry as ?the gentle art of drawing someone out, of asking questions to which you do not know the answer, of building relationships based on curiosity and interest in the other person.? It was inspired by Edgar?s twenty years of work in high-hazard industries and the health-care system, where honest communication can literally mean the difference between life and death.
In this new edition the authors look at how Humble Inquiry differs from other kinds of inquiry, offer examples of it in action, and show how to overcome the barriers that keep us telling when we should be asking. This edition offers a deepening and broadening of this concept, seeing it as not just a way of posing questions but an entire attitude that includes better listening, better responding to what others are trying to tell us, and better revealing of ourselves. Packed with case examples and a full chapter of exercises and simulations, this is a major contribution to how we see human conversational dynamics and relationships, presented in a compact, personal, and eminently practical way.
